The Lawyer Pot
A month ago I contributed another 600 bucks to the lawyer pot. This being that bottomless pot at the end of the rainbow that divorce lawyers collect their fees in. This is my third year of contributing to the lawyer pot. I've probably helped my lawyer buy a house or a car or something. First there were fees to get divorced. Then fees to try and get my ex to pay me my half of the business, which failed. Then more fees for a different approach at trying to get my ex to pay me my half, which failed. My ex is a slippery bastard! One of those first-class dead-beats that will do anything to get out of paying his due. This latest contribution to the pot is for yet another approach at making my ex pay, one that is finally supposed to work. I spoke with my divorce lawyer today... he says the "paperwork is done, and we are a couple weeks away from having the papers filed and served." I've heard this before, many times. This time we are filing a sister-state judgment and wage garnishment. Sister-state because my ex left California without paying me my half of our business. My lawyer says "this time it will work, we should see some money"... I'll believe it when I see the check in my hand.
I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
I think that arrangement is already in practice... wimpie.
hey it's not tuesday yet!
Maybe you could get a side job as a bounty hunter and track down ex's, cuff em and stick live monkeys up their butts.
Oh that would be fun!!
