If you Blog it… it will come
This week, my desk at work has been covered in a glorious, colorful, fragrant, virtual
Field of Dreams and my face cannot contain the smile lingering at the corners of my mouth. In a moment of complete surprise… I received the largest most vibrant bouquet of flowers from my boss and the office staff for my birthday. All week I have been staring in awe at big pink and white Tiger Lilies, giant yellow Sunflowers, and purple and pink Gladiolas as their wonderful fragrance surrounds my desk.
How is this possible? It seems so unreal! Especially for those of you who read my blog entry last month
The ritual plant bombing where I complained and expressed my disappointment about always receiving plants from my boss, when I’m not a plant person. Well… my co-worker, who is our civil designer and drafting supervisor, reads my blog! And a couple of weeks ago, he came up to my desk and told me how he thought my blog entry on the plant I received for Secretary’s Day was funny. We both pointed at the huge stupid plant by my desk and had a good laugh.
So, this week when the beautiful flowers arrived, I knew who was responsible for them.
“Thank you for the beautiful flowers! I know you had everything to do with making that happen.” I said smiling to my co-worker.
“You’re welcome.” He said with a secretive smile on his face. “I can’t wait to read your blog entry on it.”
Who knew my little blog had such power! Want flowers-- blog it-- get flowers. Maybe I should put this power to better use… want date-- blog it-- get date. You never know it could happen. I can hear the dating ghost whispering from the agricultural fields I write agricultural conversion studies about converting farmland to residential subdivisions at work …
“If you build it… he will come. If you build it… he will come. If you build it… he will come.”
