Mama’s got a brand new bag!
Every once in a while we all need something new! A new toy, a little something we buy ourselves as an unneeded treat. I’m talking about the fun things not the necessary essentials. Men fix up their vehicles, buy off road vehicles and boats, tools, rifles and handguns or sporting equipment depending on what they’re into. Women buy jewelry, clothes, purses, shoes galore, decorative furnishings, and whatever hobby they may be into. Throw in musical intruments and equipment for all the musicians out there. These are the little pleasures, the little splurges we allow ourselves. The things we buy just because we feel like it-- that provides us with little rays of happiness.

For me, it used to be all about the shoes! Buying shoes was my I’m feeling blue, I need a little pick me up thing, that is until I had two reconstructive knee surgeries on my left knee and now I’m not allowed to wear all the cute adorable heels and sandals with heels that I love. So… music and DVD’s became my quick I need a present fix. My CD and movie collections have grown considerably.

I see nothing wrong with treating ourselves every now and then to the frivolous items. When you work hard for your money you want to feel like you are able to do more than just pay the bills and a new little something every now and then can give you that sense of accomplishment.

Yesterday I splurged on myself and got a brand new toy! No, it’s not that customized 330i silver BMW that I’ve wanted for a couple of years now (that one is still out of my single-self budget), but it is silver, customized and a 700m. I bought myself an Inspiron 700m customized laptop computer! I’ve wanted a laptop for months now… and I finally decided to just make it happen somehow because I work hard for my money and deserve to have new toys!

Now all I have to do is anxiously wait, like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, for the UPS man to bring Mama her brand new bag…  posted by Matildakay at 11:55 AM
