Survey Says!
A few days ago, in that old TV game show
Family Feud style, I asked my readers this question:
“What do you think I am?” In response, my readers showed their presence on my blog. My stats climbed up the bar graph and I had three of the highest unique visit days I’ve ever had. I received some interesting answers, some I expected and some I had never even thought of. I wanted to thank everyone for reading my blog and especially thank those of you that sent me your guesses and curious thoughts into my nationality and origins.
I used to watch
Family Feud in the afternoons when I was younger. Surely some of you remember, as I do, Richard Dawson kissing all of the women contestants, no matter their age. I used to wonder if he was drunk, a pervert, or a washed up actor that got stuck doing a game show only to have that game show become one of the most popular and longest running game shows ever on TV.
Family Feud is still showing on TV to this day, albeit with a new host.
“100 people were surveyed and the top 5 responses are on the board!” Richard Dawson would explain before each question round.
And then the feud between the two participating families would begin…
Since more than 100 people participated in my survey with their readership, I’ve decided to share with you the top 10 responses.
“What do you think I am?” I asked.
“Survey Says!” Richard Dawson yells.
1) Latin/Hispanic
2) Italian
3) French
4) Spanish (Spain)
5) Part Hispanic and part Irish/English
6) Middle Eastern Europe
7) Israli (Nazareth or Jerusalem)
8) Greek
9) Irish
10) Native American
I enjoyed your curious thoughts and seeing how you reasoned out your choices. Here are a few of my favorite responses I received.
“I see Europe in you it's the curly hair that makes me avoid Russian and invoke middle eastern or Spain. It's tough but your lovely!”“I’ve personally known her for more than 25 years and I can tell you I think she’s French: that head of dark curly hair and light-skinned facial features that make me think I’m looking at some Parisian, fresh from a café on cobblestone streets.”“You cover many conceptual basics, I can see how those admirer's get lost in your character...I think you are of Nazareth or Jerusalem...”“I think since you can not trace your history further back than being born in America that makes you Native American.”Unlike the TV game show
Family Feud, the ‘final answer’ to the question of my nationality remains unknown at this time. However, I’m looking for that illusive answer and when I discover it, the question of my ‘identity’ will be answered, and we can finish playing our game of Family Feud.
