Pride and Prejudice
I have absolutely fallen in love with the movie Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. It came out on dvd last week and I have watched it over and over and over again. I can’t seem to help myself. I haven’t been this in to a movie since Moulin Rouge came out. I’ve always loved period pieces, both movies and books and this version of Jane Austin’s novel is delightful and beautifully done.

I love everything about this movie. The costumes, the scenery, the camera angles and the way it is filmed, the characters, the witty language, the customs and the music. I imagine the soundtrack is just as lovely as the movie. The Bennet family is portrayed to perfection. I love their laughter, camaraderie and sisterly rivalry. It’s a family I would love to belong to. I find myself wanting to be Elizabeth Bennet for I love her spirit and strength. Every time I watch the movie I fall more in love with Mr. Darcy. His transformation from arrogant and unsociable to his ardent love and softer kinder mannerism is wonderful to watch. I love the way he tells Lizzy that he loves her. The first time so arrogantly and fighting a battle with his emotions, the second time so beautifully and heartfelt. I keep trying to determine who is more proud: Lizzy Bennet or Mr. Darcy; and who is more prejudiced between the two of them. For they both suffer equally of being proud and prejudiced in dealing with each other. Jane Austin was so clever when she wrote these characters and the screen writers and actors gave us her vision of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy and their timeless romance. Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen play their characters perfectly and I find myself trying to determine the exact moment their characters fall in love with each other. I believe in both cases it is before they will admit it to themselves. They are intrigued from the first moment and so am I. Every time I watch it I find something new about it to love. I haven’t grown tired of it yet and I don’t think I will any time soon. I’m definitely hooked on Pride and Prejudice.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I loved, loved, loved the A&E version, this is one of my favorite books, and I adore Jane Austion, so I know what you're talking about! Enjoy!

I saw it at the Interstate Theatre a while back, my fourteen-year-old daughter and I were swooning the whole time. Yesterday I went to Blockbuster and they didn't have a SINGLE copy there. Argh. I could live with a Pride and Prejudice marathon. I could live with a little romance. I could live with watching this movie over and over again just for the heck of it....

I've not seen the new movie yet, but it would be hard to improve on Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy on the BBC/A&E version.

chicka flicka. When does the next war movie come out? They need to do a remake of Force Ten from Navarone... you know Harrison Ford was in that, right?
