Is that Superman in your pocket?
After being held captive by Cingular for many long months… my upgrade eligibility date finally came last month and I got a new cell phone with all the bells and whistles and personalized ring tones just like I wanted.

The funny thing about personalized ring tones is that they can surprise you at any moment…

Last week at physical therapy I had just finished a round of exercises and was talking with ‘M’ and ‘J’ when my phone rang.

“Is that Superman in your pocket?” ‘J’ asked as the Superman theme song played from my pocket.

“Yeah.”

“That’s different.” ‘J’ said as I answered my phone.

Personally, I like having the man of steel in my pocket. Makes me feel like I have my own personal superhero calling and what girl wouldn’t want that.

Of course I’ve also been in a public restroom when Harry Connick Jr. started singing “Save the Last Dance” from my pocket too.

Superman and Harry Connick Jr. two of my favorite men and they’re living in my pocket!

You just gotta love these fancy cell phones.

Personally, novelists are my heroes. Don't know how you could put one of those on a cell phone and make it sound cool.

People like their famous stars and movie sound tracks. I'd like to think of putting sounds on a phone like a train smashing into a cow, or flowers being ripped from the earth, or a midget getting his toes stepped on by a goat. Now those would be interesting cell phone sounds...

I have Giant Steps by John Coltrane as my ringtone. If you hear that around town emanating from a phone, you'll be wondering...

I get moderated and have to enter word verification? WTF!? Do you want a retinal scan too lol?

I love that commercial by T-Mobile? I think? Where the guy asks his best friend "why do you have my girlfriend on your top five friends?"

Then his phone rings, and it's the girlfriend, and the song is "SECRET LOVERS".

Then there is an awkward moment. Busted.

I know, I know... I'm a geek. I love funny commercials though.

My kids put this ringtone on my phone that sounds like one of those high pitch noises that only canines can hear. I must be half wolf, because I can hear it every time.

Oh and Harry Conick Jr? Dreamy! hmmmm now I have to go out and find me a good Harry ringtone to add to my collection!

I'm so glad you didnt pose the question is that superman in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.

Currently I am using the theme to The Rockford Files as a ring tone. I am waiting to get hit in the head as I walk in the door be kidnapped by mobsters have my best friend sell me out for a few dimes get in a car chase causing me to be arrested then call my cop buddy to bail me out of the mess.

Amy: We were at the same concert one row apart in the orchestra pit!! woo hoo! Gotta love Harry!

Black Dog: I love your Rockford Files ringtone story... brings back memories, I think I've watched every episode of that series with my mom.

Chingpea: Harry and Dave Navarro! Ooo la la!

NL: You wouldn't be you if you didn't want a ringtone sound effect that was more interesting than any superstar!

Norma: Great commercial! I've gotta keep an eye out for that one. Shakira and Fergie?? haha...

JR: It's something good that reminds me of you... :)

S.R.: Just for you, I've removed word verification and we'll see how I do with the haters. :) Although I would like that retnal scan so I could map your thoughts and find out more about the mysterious S.R. who writes such intriguing blogs.

To Amy: Whether a hater or a lover, you gotta get your comments moderated. How does word verification keep any more of them out when everyone is already going thru the moderation booth?

Black Dog: What we need is a Rockford Files post, and you are just the man to do it! I love all of those Rockford cliches, have joked about them. I also like Quincy when he gets melodramatic, preachy, and pointing his finger. My bro and I would laugh about that.

Blogs, posts, all the same to me because I usually call mine bloggy's. I just meant that I like your writing...
