Dia de los Muertos
Day of the Dead. Latin cultures know how to honor their dead. They have celebrations, parades and they build altars. Day of the Dead is a festive, colorful and reverent day where loved ones are remembered. The holiday celebrates the belief that death is part of life and uses brightly colored skulls and skeletons as part of the festivities. I love the mysticism of Day of the Dead celebrations. If I could adopt a piece of Latin culture as my own, it would be the Day of the Dead.
This Day of the Dead I’d like to celebrate my grandparents:
Curtis, Ida Mae, Walter Lee and Ola Mae... I love and miss you all.
Local Day of the Dead festivities are going on at Golden State Mall (Formerly Montgomery World Plaza).

Several of my Mexican friends make a yearly trip to their Mexican hometowns and celebrate El Dia De Los Muertos there.
Since I can't afford to fly to Guadalajara, Jalisco MX (my hometown) I'm really excited about being part of this event happening here in Bakersfield!
so awesome! i plan on going out even for a few minutes tonight unless the sickies take over again like they have the last couple of days... i wanna be better! i wanna breathe again! waaahhhh....
don't forget to take tons of pictures, wifey... i hear matt, nl and the mento buru gang have something going on. :)
