no plant bombs?! sucks... i know how that feels... even when you don't want them around, it does acknowledge your existence and some appreciation for showing up everyday. ugh.
The opposite happened to me this year. We never get anything. Not even an acknowledgment. But I never mind. They show us their appreciation throughout the year in different ways. For example, they are BBQing for all of us today. BUT this year on "secretaries day" we got pizza AND carnations.
The first thing I thought of when I saw the carnations was Carrie Bradshaw/Sex and the City. ha. What did they call carnations? "Filler flowers" or something???
And I don't care for pizza but the thought behind was sweet.
Chingpea, It is nice to be acknowledged and appreciated once in a while. It sucks when that doesn't happen.
Norma, Norma, Yes... carnations were "filler flowers" on Sex and the City. :) I guess when you're used to getting plant bombed on Secretary's day and then it doesn't happen, it makes a statement. Especially when that is usually the only day during the year that appreciation is shown.
Although in your case, I might be wondering if your bosses were taking happy pills if they suddenly started appreciating when they normally don't. I guess enjoy it!
